Our Story
As a die hard Eagles fan, born and raised in Pennsylvania, I’ve tasted countless cheesesteaks. That all changed in 2012 when I moved to Michigan after serving four years in the Navy to live with my then, soon to be wife, who is a native of this great state.
Although I could still watch the games and cheer my team on from the Mitten, the key part of the game experience was missing. I couldn’t find a quality cheesesteak. I was still missing that taste of home that reminded me why I loved Philly so much.
After searching all over Michigan, I gave up hope and settled for my cherished trips back to Pennsylvania, as I knew my family would always have a Philly cheesesteak waiting for me upon arrival. When my nephew, Gavin, moved to Michigan in 2020, he was faced with the same dilemma: where do we get a decent cheesesteak to watch our beloved Philadelphia Eagles? One taste after the next, not even one sandwich came close.
When my parents retired and moved to Texas in 2021, I worried that I would never get that taste of home again. But then, the proverbial light bulb flashed in midnight green: “Philly’s Original Cheesesteaks.” And I thought to myself, “If I can’t find original Philly cheesesteaks, then by all means, I will bring the best Cheesesteaks to Michigan!” And that is how these legendary cheesesteaks came about.
